Like nearly all institutions of higher learning, the cost of operating Memphis Theological Seminary is only partially covered by the tuition payments from students. In this case, the tuition payments account for approximately half of the revenues necessary to provide a quality theological education. The other sources include endowment interest (13%), support from the Cumberland Presbyterian Church (12%) and annual gift income (25%). Without these other sources of support, the tuition charges would be too high for all but a few students to afford. If it were not for the generous support of donors many current students would not be able to obtain an education to follow their call into the ministry.
